About the RP255 Performance Mode When you first apply power to the RP255, it powers up in Performance mode. Performance mode provides access to all of the presets within the RP255 via the Up and Down Footswitches. Knob 1 selects a tone from the Tone Library, Knob 2 selects an effect from the Effects Library, Knob 3 adjusts the Effects Level, and Knob 4 adjusts the Master Level (volume).

Presets Presets are named and numbered locations of programmed sounds which reside in the RP255. Presets are recalled with the Footswitches. The active effects in each preset are indicated by lighted LEDs in the Effect Matrix. The RP255 comes with 60 User presets (1-60) and 60 Fac- tory presets (61-120).

1. Footswitches These two Footswitches are used to select presets, access the Tuner, enable the Phrase Looper, and Bypass the RP255. The Footswitch on the right will select the next preset up, and the Footswitch on the left will select the next preset down. Pressing both Footswitches together will bypass the currently selected preset. -

Effects Level (Knob 3) 1. In Performance mode, this knob adjusts the overall level of post amp model effects (Cho- rus/Mod, Delay, and Reverb). 2. When editing a preset, this knob modifies the parameter listed in the column directly above it for the selected Effect row. 3. -

5. Display The Display provides information for different functions depending on the mode that has been selected. In Performance mode, the Display will show the currently selected preset name and number. In Edit mode, the Display will show the name and value of the parameter being adjusted. In Tuner mode, the Display will show the note played. -

Rear Panel 1. Input Connect your instrument to this high-impedance TS input. 2. Amp / Mixer This button optimizes the RP255’s outputs for use when plugged into a guitar amp or a mixer/ recording device. When set to Mixer (“In” position), speaker compensation is turned on and the outputs are optimized for connecting to a mixer, recording device or headphones.

Getting Started Making Connections There are several different connection options available with the RP255. Before connecting the RP255, make sure that the power to your amplifier and the RP255 is turned off. There is no power switch on the RP255. To turn the RP255 on or off, connect or disconnect the included PS0913B power supply from the Power Input jack.

Stereo Operation For stereo operation connect the guitar to the Input of the RP255. Connect one cable to the RP255’s Left (Mono) output, and another cable to the RP255’s Right output. Connect one cable to the input of one amplifier, channel of a mixer, or power amp. Connect the second cable to a second amplifier, second channel of a mixer, or power amp.

Applying Power Before applying power to anything, set your amp(s) to a clean tone and set the tone controls to a flat EQ response (on most amps, this would be 0 or 5 on the tone controls). Then follow the steps listed below.

Section Two — Editing Functions Editing/Creating Presets The RP255 is designed to make preset editing and creation easy and intuitive. When creating your own sound, you must first start with an existing preset. Note that the preset you begin with doesn’t have to be in the memory location you intend to have it reside, since you can store it to any User preset location during the store procedure.

Anytime a stored value within a preset is changed, the Store button LED lights up. This indicates that you need to store the changes. Changing presets, or turning the power off before storing any changes, erases any changes made and the RP255 will revert to the stored values for the preset. Storing/Copying/Naming a Preset Once the preset has been modified to your liking, you may store your settings to any of the 60 User preset locations (presets 1-60).

Noise Gate A Noise Gate is designed to eliminate noise while you are not playing, or provide an auto volume swell effect. Gate Model — Knob 1 selects between the DigiTech noise gate or the volume swell effect. ® Values include: gate (Selects the noise gate) and swell (Selects the volume swell effect.) Press this knob to turn the noise gate on and off.

A Flanger uses the same principle as a Chorus but uses a shorter delay time and adds regeneration (or repeats) to the modulating delay. This results in an exaggerated up and down sweeping motion to the effect. The RP255 includes the following Flanger Effect models: fLangr (the DigiTech Flanger), and mxFLgr (based on an MXR Flanger).

Depth — Knob 3 adjusts the Depth of the modulation. Ranges from 0 to 99. Regeneration — Knob 4 controls the regeneration of the effect. Ranges from 0 to 99. Waveform (X-Edit only) — Selects a waveform: triang, Sine, or Square. Level (X-Edit only) — Controls the level of the effect.

VibroPan (vibpan) A vibrato is an effect that modulates the pitch of the incoming signal. This will take the whole signal slightly in and out of tune at a steady pace. The VibroPan also incorporates an automatic panner with the vibrato effect that creates a lush chorus-like sound. Speed — Knob 2 adjusts how fast the signal is being modulated.

Pedal Position — Knob 3 provides a manual control of the Whammy pedal position. Ranges from 0 to 99. Mix — Knob 4 adjusts the Whammy mix. Ranges from 0 to 99. Pitch Shift (PitCH) A Pitch Shifter copies the incoming signal, then shifts the pitch of the copy to a different note. The shifted note is then mixed back with the original signal, sounding as if two guitars were playing different notes.

Harmony Pitch Shifting Harmony Pitch Shifting makes a copy of the incoming signal, and then changes the pitch of the copied note to a diatonically correct interval specified by the Amount parameter. DigiTech обнародовали свою обновленную серию RP в 2006 году и основным козырем тогда была усиленная система моделирования, которая впервые появилась на их звуковых процессорах GNX Workstation. Новый процессор Audio DNA2 обещает в четыре раза большую мощность, чем у предыдущего поколения, представленного процессором / рабочей станцией GNX3000, в невероятно компактном напольном устройстве. Новая линейка совсем непродолжительное время испытывалась в производственных условиях, так как DigiTech практически немедленно выпустили свою серию RPX55 с расширенной палитрой моделируемых эффектов и встроенным лупером.
RP255 – это представитель новой линейки RP, второй по доступности процессор, имеющий встроенную педаль громкости. Другие ножные переключатели – это классическая пара переключателей вверх и вниз, позволяющие пользователю переключать патчи и пресеты ногой. Как и со многими процессорами эффектов похожего типа, обе педали могут быть нажаты одновременно для перевода устройства в режим байпас. А если педали зажаты на секунду или около того, то автоматически запускается тюнер.
Лицевая сторона устройства имеет 4 регулятора и известную матрицу DigiTech, которая делает программирование эффектов интуитивным, благодаря интерфейсу, работать с которым еще проще, чем с интерфейсом, управляемым через меню. Входы и выходы расположены сзади, где вы и рассчитываете найти их, и среди них раздельные выходные разъемы джек 1/4″ для левого и правого каналов, гитарный входной разъем джек 1/4″, выходной разъем для подключения наушников джек 1/8”, дополнительный входной разъем (aux) джек 1/8”, и USB 2х2.
DigiTech загрузили RP255 обширным массивом напольных эффектов, усилителей и моделей эффектов, действительно охватывающих весь диапазон и способных занять гитаристов-экспериментаторов на долгое время. Одна из областей, где DigiTech по-настоящему улучшили свои процессоры, это, определенно, расположение органов управления для всех моделируемых эффектов. Они не всегда реагируют именно так, как их реальные эквиваленты, но, как бы там ни было, они работают намного тоньше, чем на моделях других серий DigiTech. У инженеров компании получилось сделать работу просто невероятно и добиться того, чтобы уловить и точно передать сущность огромного количества классических педалей. Tubescreamer и Rat, например, звучат в точности как оригинал.
Существует множество разногласий по поводу пресетов различных усилителей в процессорах DigiTech. Многие из них звучат очень, очень хорошо с необычайно реалистичным и динамически реагирующим звуком. Но, по той причине, что они сталкиваются с множеством проблем с моделированием классических эффектов, чувствуешь себя обманутым, когда понимаешь, что DigiTech, взамен решения проблемы, решили делать только регуляторы гейна (gain) и громкости (volume).
К счастью, последняя серия RP имеет, в отличие от предыдущих, тональные преобразователи и DigiTech проделали хорошую работу, захватив лакомый кусочек множества моделируемых усилителей, которые можно по-настоящему использовать и без дополнительных эквалайзеров. Для дополнительных звуковых преобразований, полупараметрический эквалайзер даст вам возможность подчистить средний и высокий частотные диапазоны, а многообразие моделей кабинетов дает огромный диапазон звуков.
Эмуляция некоторых усилителей на DigiTech RP255 значительно захватил лучше, чем эмуляция некоторых других. Тогда как сильная сторона изображена довольно скромно (очень мило звучат отстроенные пресеты DigiTech High Gain, Metal, Solo), нам кажется, что лучшие звуки этого устройства – это винтажные модели усилителей Fender, Vox и Marshall. Действительно стоит поаплодировать результату, которого смогли добиться разработчики. Особенно восхищает незначительное присутствие песка и звона в эмуляторах усилителей Vox AC30 Top Boost и олдскульного Marshall Plexi. Как бы там ни было, стоит заметить, что звук не остается таким же хорошим при подключении наушников напрямую к процессору. Зато все в полном порядке, если вы подключаете наушники к микшеру или к используемому усилителю.
Секция модуляции RP255 возможно дает самые впечатляющие звуковые эффекты всего процессора. Все, включенное в эту секцию, имеет тональную глубину и теплоту, которые способны одурачить любого, заставив его думать, что он использует какие-нибудь милые винтажные эффекты. Поклонники эффекта Лесли должны обратить внимание на то, как здорово DigiTech RP255 справляется с эмуляцией любимого ими звука. Несколько разновидностей хоруса также звучат мило и, действительно, предлагают разные, по сути, захваты классического эффекта. Теперь, если бы все, что мы описали до сих пор и было бы всем, что способен предложить вам этот процессор, мы сказали бы, что это прекрасное приобретение, учитывая соотношение цены и качества. Но DigiTech превзошли сами себя, добавив к этому процессору 20-ти секундный лупер. Используя сочетание нажатия педалей, устройство позволяет на ходу делать 20-ти секундные лупы. Конечно, 20 секунд звучит не очень гордо, учитывая то, что некоторые луперы предлагают создание часовых и более лупов, но если подумать, этого более чем достаточно, чтобы залупить куплетный риф и затем сыграть соло на этот луп. Очень, очень круто!
Нужно заметить, что этот процессор с его изобилующим звуковым сетом намного менее шумный, чем вы могли бы предположить. Подключив его к мощному усилителю и выкрутив гейн почти на 100 процентов вы не услышите ничего особенного и эффект будет таким, будто вы используете цепочку аналоговых педалей. Но не заблуждайтесь в возможностях этого процессора. Если вы используете набор аналоговых педалей или стойку рековых эффектов, DigiTech RP255 не сможет улучшить эту цепочку. Но как решение «все в одном» для репетиций или для домашних занятий, DigiTech RP255 просто победитель!

Обзор №1
Процессор огонь, сегодня приобрел, не нарадуюсь. По сравнению с KORG ax5g небо и земля. OSx 10.8 приняла его как родной, пишет отлично. Тут-же все мышкой можно наруливать и сохранять непосредственно в память проца. С драм машиной поигрался, тоже понравилось.
Педалька действительно заслуживает внимания, даже только из-за того что металическая, педалька не для детской ножки, чувствуешь в себе силу когда ставишь ногу на педаль. Большим плюсом стало наличие блока питания. В общем мне очень понравилось!!! Советую всем, ради интереса подключал УРАЛ и даже такое палено превратилось во что-то более менее приличное. Итого — брать однозначно!
