• Before connecting the appliance, please check if the voltage

indicated on the appliance corresponds with the mains voltage in
your home.

• Do not place the appliance on a hot surface.
• Remove the mains plug from the wall socket:

— if problems occur during making coffee;
— before cleaning the appliance.

• Do not allow the mains cord to come into contact with hot surfaces.
• Use the appliance out of children’s reach. Prevent them from

pulling the mains cord.

• Never use the appliance if the mains plug, the mains cord or the

appliance itself is damaged.

Cord storage 

— Excess mains cord can be stored at the back of the appliance (fig. 1).

Before first use

— Operate the appliance once without filling the filter with ground coffee.

(See section «Making coffee».)

— Next, clean the removable parts as described in section «Cleaning».

Cleaning

• Never immerse the appliance in water. You should clean it with a

damp cloth. 

• The removable items should be washed in hot soapy water. Rinse with

clean hot water and dry. These items can also be cleaned in a
dishwasher.

Making coffee:

please refer to the illustrations (fig. 2 — 13)

— Use fresh cold water only (fig. 2).

Left hand side level indications: for large cups (125 ml). Right hand side
level indications: for smaller cups (80 ml) (fig. 5).

— Use filter paper type «1×4 » or «no. 4». Do not forget to fold the rims

(fig. 7, 8).
With some models a permanent filter is supplied. Paper filters are then
not required.
After use empty the permanent filter, wash it with hot soapy water and
rinse it under the tap (fig. 9).

— For large cups: one full (heaped) measuring spoonful of ground coffee

(«fast filter» type) for each cup. For smaller cups: one level measuring
spoonful for each cup (fig. 10).

• The «After Drip-Stop» ensures that no coffee will drip on to the hotplate if

the jug is removed from the appliance after making coffee.  
Do not remove the jug during brewing!

Making more coffee 

If you wish to make a second portion of coffee, please switch the coffee
maker off (fig. 16) and allow about three minutes for it to cool down. 
Then you can refill the water tank.

Descaling

Descale your coffee maker regularly. With normal use (two full jugs a day)
the following rule applies:

hardness up to 18 °DH (22.5 °Clarke) — 2 or 3 times a year;
hardness over 18 °DH (22.5 °Clarke) — 4 or 5 times a year.

Your water supply company can inform you about the hardness of your
water.

— Operate the appliance twice. However, now use ordinary vinegar to fill

the water tank and do not fill the filter with coffee.

— After descaling, let the appliance work twice more with only water to

rinse away the vinegar and scale remainders.

— Wash the coffee jug, lid and filter holder.

Replacing the mains cord

If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the
original type only.
Please apply to your Philips dealer or to the Philips organisation in your
country for replacement.

• Avant de brancher l’appareil, vérifiez que la tension indiquée sur la

plaque signalétique de celui-ci correspond bien avec celle de votre
logement.

• Ne placez pas l’appareil sur une surface chaude.
• Débranchez toujours l’appareil :

— en cas de problème durant son fonctionnement ;
— avant de le nettoyer.

• Gardez le cordon éloigné des parties chaudes de l’appareil.
• Assurez-vous que l’appareil soit hors de portée des enfants. Evitez

de tirer sur le cordon de l’appareil.

• N’utilisez jamais l’appareil si la prise, le cordon ou l’appareil lui-

même sont endommagés.

Rangement du cordon

— Vous pouvez ranger l’excédent de cordon à l’arrière de l’appareil (fig. 1).

Avant la première utilisation

— Faites fonctionner l’appareil une fois sans café. (Voir paragraphe

“Préparation du café”.)

— Ensuite, nettoyez les parties amovibles comme décrit dans le

paragraphe “Nettoyage”.

Nettoyage

• N’immergez jamais l’appareil dans l’eau. Vous pouvez le nettoyer

avec un chiffon humide.

• Les parties amovibles peuvent être nettoyées à l’eau chaude

savonneuse. Rincez à l’eau chaude et séchez. Ces éléments peuvent
également être nettoyés dans un lave-vaisselle.

Préparation du café:

se référer aux illustrations (fig. 2 — 13)

— Utilisez uniquement de l’eau froide (fig. 2).

Indications du côté gauche: pour de grandes tasses (125 ml).
Indications du côté droit: pour de petites tasses (80 ml) (fig. 5).

— Utilisez un filtre papier “1 x 4” ou “n

°

4”. N’oubliez pas de plier les bords

(fig. 7, 8).
Un filtre permanent est fourni avec certains modèles. Il n’est alors pas
nécessaire de mettre de filtre papier. Après utilisation, videz le filtre
permanent, lavez-le à l’eau chaude savonneuse et rincez-le à l’eau
claire (fig. 9).

— Pour des grandes tasses: une cuillère doseuse pleine (bombée) de café

moulu (type “filtre rapide”) par tasse. Pour des petites tasses: une
cuillère doseuse par tasse (fig. 10).

• Le système “anti-goutte” empêche le café de couler du support de filtre

sur la plaque chauffante si vous enlevez la verseuse après avoir fait du
café.
Ne retirez pas la verseuse en cours de préparation du café.

Refaire du café immédiatement?

Si vous voulez refaire du café, arrêtez l’appareil (fig. 16) et laissez-le
refroidir environ 3 minutes. Vous pouvez à nouveau remplir le réservoir
d’eau et mettre en marche.

Détartrage

Détartrez votre appareil régulièrement. En cas d’utilisation normale
(2 verseuses par jour) respectez la règle suivante:
2 à 3 fois par an si la dureté de l’eau est inférieure à 30

°

TH;

4 à 5 fois par an si la dureté de l’eau est supérieure à 30

°

TH.

La Compagnie des Eaux de votre région vous renseignera sur le degré de
dureté de votre eau.

— Faites fonctionner l’appareil deux fois comme indiqué dans le

paragraphe “Préparation du café”, mais en remplissant le réservoir avec
du vinaigre ordinaire et sans mettre de café.

— Lorsque le détartrage est terminé, faites fonctionner l’appareil deux fois

avec de l’eau fraîche afin d’éliminer les restes de vinaigre et de tartre.
Lavez, rincez et séchez les éléments amovibles.

• Controleer, vóórdat u het apparaat aansluit, of de aanduiding van

het voltage op het apparaat overeenkomt met de netspanning in uw
woning.

• Zet het apparaat niet op een heet oppervlak.
• Neem de stekker uit het stopcontact:

— als er bij het koffiezetten problemen optreden;
— voordat u het apparaat gaat schoonmaken.

• Zorg ervoor dat het snoer niet in aanraking kan komen met hete

oppervlakken.

• Gebruik het apparaat buiten bereik van kinderen. Let erop dat zij

niet aan het snoer kunnen trekken.

• Gebruik het apparaat niet als de stekker, het snoer of het apparaat

zelf beschadigd is.

Snoer opbergen

— Overtollig snoer kunt u aan de achterzijde van het apparaat opbergen

(fig. 1).

Vóór het eerste gebruik

— Laat het apparaat vóór het eerste gebruik één keer werken zonder koffie

in het filter. (Zie «Koffiezetten».) 

— Was daarna de losse onderdelen af. (Zie «Schoonmaken».)

Schoonmaken 

• Dompel het apparaat nooit in water. U kunt het schoonmaken met een

vochtige doek. 

• De losse delen kunt u afwassen in heet sop. Spoel ze na met heet water

en droog ze af. U kunt de losse delen ook schoonmaken in de
afwasmachine.

Koffiezetten:

zie de illustraties (fig. 2 — 13)

— Gebruik alleen vers, koud water (fig. 2).

Linker niveau-aanduidingen: voor grote koppen (125 ml). Rechter
niveau-aanduidingen: voor kleinere koppen (80 ml) (fig. 5).

— Gebruik papieren filterzakjes type «1×4 » of «n° 4».

Vergeet niet de randen om te vouwen (fig. 7, 8).
Bij sommige versies wordt een permanent filter geleverd. U hoeft dan
geen papieren filterzakjes te gebruiken. Na gebruik: inhoud weggooien,
filter afwassen in heet sop en afspoelen onder de kraan (fig. 9).

— Voor grote koppen: 1 volle maatlepel koffie-maalsel (snelfiltermaling) per

kop. Voor kleinere koppen: 1 afgestreken maatlepel per kop (fig. 10).

• De «Nadruppel-Stop» zorgt ervoor dat er geen koffie op de

warmhoudplaat druppelt, wanneer u ná het koffiezetten de kan
verwijdert. 
Verwijder de kan niet tijdens het koffiezetten! 

Nog meer koffie zetten?

Als u meteen opnieuw koffie wilt zetten, schakel dan eerst de koffiezetter
uit (fig. 16) en laat het apparaat ongeveer drie minuten afkoelen. 
Daarna kunt u het waterreservoir opnieuw vullen.

Ontkalken

Ontkalk uw koffiezetter regelmatig. Bij normaal gebruik (twee volle kannen
per dag):
2 à 3 keer per jaar als u zacht water gebruikt (tot 18 °DH);
4 à 5 keer per jaar als u hard water gebruikt (boven 18 °DH).
Uw waterleidingbedrijf kan u over de plaatselijke waterhardheid
informeren. 

— Gebruik het apparaat twee keer. Vul het waterreservoir nu echter met

gewone azijn in plaats van water, en doe geen koffie in het filter.

— Laat na het ontkalken het apparaat nog twee keer met alleen koud water

werken om azijn en kalkresten weg te spoelen.

— Was vervolgens de koffiekan, de filterhouder en het deksel af.

Kan kapot? Of extra kan?

Snoer vervangen

Indien het snoer van dit apparaat is beschadigd, dient het uitsluitend door
het originele type te worden vervangen. Wend u daartoe tot uw Philips
leverancier of tot de Philips organisatie in uw land.

• Prüfen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme, ob die Spannungsangabe auf dem

Gerät mit der örtlichen Netzspannung übereinstimmt.

• Stellen Sie das Gerät niemals auf eine heiße Oberfläche.
• Ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der Steckdose, …

— wenn bei der Zubereitung des Kaffees Schwierigkeiten auftreten,
— bevor Sie das Gerät reinigen.

• Achten Sie darauf, daß das Netzkabel nicht mit heißen Oberflächen

in Berührung kommt.

• Halten Sie Kinder vom Gerät fern. Achten Sie darauf, daß es nicht

am Netzkabel heruntergerissen werden kann.

• Verwenden Sie das Gerät niemals, wenn der Stecker, das Netzkabel

oder das Gerät selbst beschädigt ist.

Kabelaufwicklung

— Überschüssiges Netzkabel können Sie an der Rückseite des Geräts

aufwickeln (Abb. 1).

Vor dem ersten Gebrauch

— Betreiben Sie das Gerät zuvor einmal mit Wasser (s. “Kaffee

zubereiten”), ohne Kaffee im Filter.

— Spülen Sie dann die abnehmbaren Teile ab (s. ”Reinigen”).

Reinigen

• Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in Wasser. Sie können es mit einem

feuchten Tuch abwischen.

• Die abnehmbaren Teile reinigen Sie in warmem Wasser, dem Sie bei

Bedarf etwas Spülmittel zufügen. Diese Teile können Sie auch in der
Geschirrspülmaschine abwaschen.

Kaffee zubereiten: 

Folgen Sie den Abbildungen 2 bis 13

— Nehmen Sie nur frisches, kaltes Wasser (Abb. 2).

Linke Markierung: große Tassen von 125 ml;
rechte Markierung: kleine Tassen von 80 ml (Abb. 5).

— Verwenden Sie Papierfiltertüten “1×4” oder “N

°

4”. Vergessen Sie nicht,

die Kanten zu falzen (Abb. 7 und 8). 
Bei einigen Geräten wird ein Dauerfilter mitgeliefert. Dann sind keine
Papierfilter erforderlich (Abb. 9). Werfen Sie seinen Inhalt nach der
Zubereitung fort, und spülen Sie den Dauerfilter unter der Wasserleitung
ab. Bei Bedarf können Sie ihn auch in heißem Wasser auswaschen,
dem Sie etwas Spülmittel zugefügt haben.

— Nehmen Sie einen gehäuften Meßlöffel voll Kaffeemehl für eine große

Tasse und einen gestrichenen Meßlöffel für eine kleine Tasse Kaffee
(Abb. 10).

• Die “Anti-Tropf”-Vorrichtung sorgt dafür, daß kein Kaffee auf die

Warmhalteplatte tropft, wenn Sie die Kanne von der Heizplatte nehmen.
Nehmen Sie die Kanne niemals von der Heizplatte, solange noch Kaffee
zubereitet wird!

Gleich wieder frischen Kaffee zubereiten

Wenn Sie gleich anschließend wieder frischen Kaffee zubereiten wollen,
schalten Sie zuerst das Gerät aus (Abb. 16). Lassen Sie das Gerät
ca. 3 Minuten abkühlen. Danach können Sie den Wasserbehälter wieder
füllen.

Entkalken

Entkalken Sie das Gerät regelmäßig. Bei normalen Gebrauch d.h.bei
Zubereitung von zwei vollen kannen täglich:
bei Wasserhärte bis

dH: zwei- bis dreimal im Jahr,

bei Wasserhärte über 18

°

dH: vier- bis fünfmal im Jahr.

Ihre Wasserwerke können Ihnen über die Härte Ihres Wassers Auskunft
geben. 

— Betreiben Sie das Gerät zweimal; füllen Sie den Wasserbehälter aber

mit Haushaltsessig, ohne Kaffeemehl in den Filter zu füllen.

— Betreiben Sie das Gerät nach dem Entkalken noch zweimal mit klarem

Wasser, um die Essig- und Kalkreste zu entfernen.

— Spülen Sie dann die Kanne, den Deckel und den Filterhalter.

Kanne zerbrochen? Benötigen Sie eine extra Kanne?

Auswechseln des Netzanschlußkabels

Wenn das Netzanschlußkabel defekt oder beschädigt ist, muß dieses
durch ein Original-Netzanschlußkabel ersetzt werden. Wenden Sie sich an
Ihren Philips Händler oder an die Philips Service Organisation.

• Prima di collegare l’apparecchio verificate che la tensione indicata

sull’apparecchio corrisponda a quella della rete locale.

• Non appoggiate l’apparecchio su superfici bollenti.
• Togliete la spina dell’apparecchio dalla presa di corrente:

— nel caso sorgessero problemi mentre preparate il caffè
— prima di procedere alla pulizia dell’apparecchio.

• Fate in modo che il cavo di alimentazione non venga a contatto con

superfici bollenti.

• Tenete l’apparecchio lontano dalla portata dei bambini e fate in

modo che non tirino il cavo di alimentazione.

• Non usate l’apparecchio se la spina o il cavo di alimentazione

risultano danneggiati.

Come riporre il cavo

— Il cavo in eccedenza può essere riposto nella parte posteriore

dell’apparecchio (fig. 1).

Prima dell’uso

— Fate funzionare l’apparecchio soltanto una volta senza  riempire il filtro

con il caffè (vedere “Come preparare il caffè”).

— Pulite le parti asportabili come indicato nella sezione “Pulizia”.

Pulizia

• Non immergete l’apparecchio in acqua. Per pulirlo, utilizzate un

panno umido.

• Le parti asportabili possono essere lavate con acqua calda saponata.

Risciacquatele con acqua calda corrente e asciugatele con cura.
Potete anche lavarle nella lavastoviglie.

Come preparare il caffè 

Fate riferimento alle illustrazioni (figg. 2-13)
— Usate soltanto acqua fredda corrente (fig. 2).

Il livello indicato sul lato sinistro corrisponde a tazze capienti (125 ml).
Il livello indicato sul lato destro corrisponde a tazze piccole (80 ml)
(fig. 5).

— Usate il filtro di carta del tipo “1×4” o “n. 4”. Non dimenticate di ripiegare

il bordo (figg. 7-8).
Con alcuni modelli viene fornito un filtro permanente e in questo caso,
non è necessario utilizzare i filtri di carta. Dopo l’uso, svuotate il filtro
permanente, lavatelo con acqua calda e saponata e risciaquatelo sotto
l’acqua corrente (fig. 9).

— Se usate tazze capienti: mettete un misurino colmo di caffè macinato

(miscela tipo “fast filter”) per ogni tazza.
Se usate tazze piccole: mettete un misurino raso di caffè macinato per
ogni tazza (fig. 10).

— Il dispositivo “anti-goccia” previene la caduta di gocce di caffè sulla

piastra riscaldante nel caso in cui venga tolta la brocca una volta pronto
il caffè. 
Non togliete la brocca durante la preparazione del caffè.

Preparazione di altro caffè

Se desiderate preparare dell’altro caffè, spegnete l’apparecchio (fig. 16) e
lasciatelo raffreddare per circa 3 minuti. A questo punto potete riempire
nuovamente il serbatoio dell’acqua.

Disincrostazione

Disincrostate periodicamente la vostra macchina per il caffè.
Considerando un utilizzo normale (due brocche piene al giorno),
attenetevi alle seguenti norme:

— In caso di acqua con durezza fino a

°

DH: — 2 o 3 volte l’anno.

— In caso di acqua con durezza superiore a 18

°

DH: — 4 o 5 volte all’anno.

L’ente che eroga l’acqua potabile potrà indicarvi la durezza dell’acqua di
casa vostra.
— Fate funzionare l’apparecchio due volte. Questa volta utilizzate aceto

comune per riempire il serbatoio dell’acqua e non mettete caffè nel
filtro.

— Per togliere eventuali residui di aceto e di incrostazioni, fate funzionare

l’apparecchio due volte con acqua.

— Lavate la brocca, il coperchio e il portafiltro.

La caraffa si è rotta ? Volete un’altra caraffa ?

Pump unit removalTo seperate the pump unit (item 16) from the hot-plateunit (item 14), the two fixing screws have to be loosenedfirstly. Next bend the plastic hot-plate ring outwards byapplying pressure at place A. Then the pump unit can belifted out easily.

Removal gauge unit (item 5-7)Remove the bottom plate and the switch unit. Undo thesnap connection at place B by means of a simplescrewdriver. Now the two housing parts can be pulledapart approx. 1 cm and then the gauge can be takenout easily.
